What college classes would I have to take to learn how to do this for a living I am REALLY interested in it but have no idea of what path to take or what it's called.

Art in general id say, everything where you the foundations of drawing and painting. There are some classes focused on Concept art as well. Another good thing would be industrial design where you learn lots of perspective in form, which is perfect for the concept art profession.
Have a look at www.conceptart.org and www.thegnomonworkshop.com they have a lot of cool stuff

looks cheesy because of these beings, just leave out the characters and tone down the light on the grounds and dont make it raised up above so as if the ground is the centerpiece, the city in the back should be the focus, anyone can make generic guys like these, its old, but there are few good destroyed city pictures on deviant. back to the ground, a few piles, little piles, of rubble, or mounds would be ok, but in the distance
